Giacomo Silva veteran

The most influential teacher in lazyness I've ever met

How long have you been printing?

I did my first letterpress print in 2014. However I have been screenprinting since 2009.

Describe your first encounter with letterpress

First time I got closer to the letterpress technique was in 2012, when Serileo (screenprinting collective I'm involved in) collaborated with Box 313 for "WORK IS OVER", a mixed technique print production. That time I did not follow the letterpress print process, but I've seen the final output of the collaboration. After one year, in 2013, Box 313 (aka Claudio Madella) invited me to visit OT9pt workshop. After a long trip across Milan we got to Cesano Bigwood town, the lovely place where I was introduced to the workshop and its collection of tools and typefaces.

Where did you learn?

- Facultade de Arquitectura U.T.L. Lisbon, Portugal: Typografia avançada course with Marco Neves;
- I've learned a lot from many members of Letterpress Workers network;
