How long have you been printing?

In 2010 when I started with my friends Officina Tipografica Novepunti

Describe your first encounter with letterpress

When I was in Mondovì at Museo Civico della Stampa

Where did you learn?

First in the Typographic design course in the CFP Bauer school in Milan. Then by working in our workshop

Who was your most influential teacher?

My latin-italian teacher in high-school taught me how beautiful it is to study. Leonardo Sonnoli — during university — he taught me that the most important tool for a designer is culture.
Lucio Passerini showed me how cool letterpress printing is

What super power would you like to have?

To fly

Do you prefer to work alone or with others?

It really depends on the project, but generally I think that by collaborating we can do more and better

What do you most value in your friends?

Trust, self irony, curiosity

When do your best ideas occur to you?

While walking

If you were to die and come back as a typeface, which would it be?

Semplicità, by Alessandro Butti

What tool do you use more often than any other?

Sadly it's my laptop. While printing: a ruler

If you have your own shop, what equipment do you own?

A pedalina; an Heidelberg windmill, five proof presses. Metal and wood type

If you could change one thing about your shop, what would it be?

I would like more order and cleanliness

When and where are you the happiest?

When I travel, especially hiking. When I have the feeling I'm doing something good

What is your greatest fear/worry?

To be forgotten

What do you think is useful about what you make?

I don't know: maybe making it easier for people to understand things

What’s your day job?

I work in my own graphic design studio (www.paperplanefactory.com) with four friends

Do you use any other techniques or media besides letterpress?

I do a lot of digital graphic design. I like to draw, even though i'm not very good.
