Printing is very therapeutic
Took part in: 2016 and 2017
For a couple of years…
I learned about it in a ‘Plantin Institute for Typography’ course at the Plantin Moretus Museum in Antwerp.
I booked a workshop in Hilversum and felt so happy setting type by hand, printing on a press with ink, and remembered how much I loved printing in school. I decided to dedicate more time to my long lost love…
In several workshops around Holland and Belgium.
To be able to fly – levitate.
Depends on the work…
When I am very busy or when I should be busy doing other things.
Sadly my computer, but working on that.
Just one right now: Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world – Haruki Murakami
I have no idea!
I am just starting out and building my own studio. I have one well filled cabinet of lead type, some wood type, and some clichés. I hope to find and buy a proofing press in the near future, now I have a table-top model.
I love my space, but still need a lot of equipment to complete it. All in due time…
In my home/space alone working on something that needs my full attention. Or also home/or other beautiful place surrounded by friends, family and nice people. Being without a care in the world.
To lose the use of my hands, arms (or any other limb). And losing my eyesight.
Printing is very therapeutic for me. And I guess for a lot of other people too. At the moment I mostly think about the process, the printing. What I make does not have very great importance, not yet… 😀
